Castelco Switches

POTENTIOMETERS

Commercial quality rotary potentiometers are divided into two nominal sizes (16mm and 20mm) and three product groups - the E16 (ECO) all plastic potentiometer and the P16 and P20 metal case potentiometers.
Common features of the three product groups include:

Conductive plastic track giving a life of 20x10³ cycles (or over twice the life of carbon tracks)
Standard resistance range (E3 series: 1K0, 2K2, 4K7, 10K, 22K, 47K, 100K, 220K, 470K, 1M0 ohms)
Note: Other resistance values are special and are priced on application
Temperature Range: -10ºC to +70ºC

E16 (ECO) Rotary Potentiometers

Unique features of the E16 (ECO) potentiometer product group include:

16mm nominal size
300º mechanical rotation
Plastic bush housing with optional metal bracket
0.25W power dissipation
Multi-gang configurations are available

P16 Rotary Potentiometers

Unique features of the P16 rotary potentiometer product group include:

16mm nominal size
270º mechanical rotation without switch
Metal case enclosure and a choice of fixings

SWITCH POTENTIOMETERS

Common features of the switch potentiometer product range include:

Conductive plastic track giving a life of 20x10³ cycles (or over twice the life of carbon tracks)
Standard resistance range (E6 series) of 1k0 to 1M0 ohms
300º mechanical rotation

ECO Rotary Switch Potentiometer

The ECO Rotary Switch module is UL Demko certified to EN61058-1 and is available on either the E16 (ECO), P16 or P20 potentiometers.

1A or 4A switch contact
A choice of rotary switch configurations

H Series Switch Modules for 16 & 20mm potentiometers

The upgraded replacement for the 'IL' range of switches

1A and 4A options
Spindle axis is mounted horizontal to the printed circuit board (pcb)
The design is based on the Demko certified rotary switch
Spindle axis height and terminal footprint configurations comply with established market standards

Momentary Switch Potentiometer

Unique features of the Momentary Switch with E16 (ECO) potentiometer include:

SPST - NO snap action, momentary sealed construction
Contact rating: 5 to 24VDC, 1 to 50 mA resistive load
Life: 1,000,000 operations

Push Push Switch Potentiometer

Unique features of the Push Push Switch with E16 (ECO) potentiometer include:

10A switch contact
UL Demko certified switch module (EN60065 / BS415)
SPDT pushpush switch configuration

SERVO POTENTIOMETERS

Superior quality servo potentiometers (or Angular Feedback Position Sensors) are a precision potentiometer made to give a longer life using a flush bonded conductive track and a nickel silver wiper to provide low contact resistance. They are available in three sizes.

Common features for the servo potentiometer include:

10 x 10⁶ life cycles
Fully machined metal body
Standard mounting by servo clamp

Optional features for the servo potentiometer include:

Mounting by bush and locknut
Hole fixing on the front face (2 holes for CP11 and 3 holes for CP18 and CP20)
A centre tap is available to special order

Knobs

The following range of potentiometer knobs is available:

C200 knobs provide a collet type fixing on the spindle
P570 knobs provide a 'push fit' on a 6mm spline spindle
P860 knobs provide a 'push on' or 'grub screw' type fixing on the spindle

Note The P890 range has been discontinued, however a close alternative is available, please contact our Sales office

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs)

The features of our light emitting diodes include:

A choice of flashing or steady light
A choice of 'fly lead' or 'wire ended' termination
A choice of six operating voltages from 5V to 24V
A choice of five colours for the bezel
A choice of three colours for the light
